Welcome to our weekly challenges. If this is your first visit ... click HERE for the "rules" and some helpful hints.
Last week's challenge, to refuse Styrofoam, was quite an eye-opener. There were places that I expected to see it ... like restaurants and fast food establishments. There were other places that surprised me ... like produce departments where vegetables were shrink wrapped into Styrofoam trays. Walking through the market, I saw other places that surprised me ... the meat, fish and poultry departments ... and the dried soup isle. Hopefully your awareness was lifted, as well, and we can all make this challenge a lifestyle change.
And now ... our Honor Society:

Be sure to drop by and read some of our Honor Society's posts ... there were some really great articles with a lot of wonderful ideas.
By the way, our bloggy friend Rewinn at REWinn Scrapbook had a great suggestion. He said "New idea: if we add "Change the World Wednesdays" to our individual blog tag lists, we can facilitate looking at (what) we've already published and perhaps increase interest by casual visitors." I think it's a great suggestion and have included it in our permanent "rules" post under the "Tips and Ideas". Thanks, Rewinn!
Quite a few people have suggested, lately, that we do a challenge on growing something. Genuine Woman suggested that we grow food. TC suggested that we plant a tree. Sam1982 suggested that we plant Pyrethrum to repel bugs. So, this week's challenge is inspired by all of their suggestions. Here it is:
Fall is a wonderful time to plant things ... trees, bushes, flower bulbs ... even cool weather vegetables. And, of course, there are always house plants. So this week, plant something.
If you feel you'd like a little more of a challenge, then ... in addition to part one, write a post about fall planting. Include information on why it's a "good thing", which plants/crops grow best in cool weather, where to get them and how to plant them.
That's it for this week! Thanks for participating!
WE'RE CHANGING THE WORLD ... ONE CHALLENGE AT A TIME!
