Address your "standby" habits. Unplug mobile phone chargers and any unused appliances. 8% of electricity consumed at home is from "vampire" appliances that we aren't even using.

I get power strips at the thrift store for about a buck, and plug my appliances into them so I don't actually unplug the appliance, but just flip the power switch. It's an easy way of http://rewinn.blogspot.com/2011/03/minimizing-standby-energy-use-lenten.html
