Here's today's challenge:
Save paper today. Don't print unless you need to and when you do, print double-sided onto recycled paper. Use paper, tissue, toilet paper and wood that is recycled or has been accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council. This ensures it has come from responsibly managed sustainable forests or confirms that it is recycled.
Until tomorrow ...
WE'RE CHANGING THE WORLD ... ONE CHALLENGE AT A TIME!
We don't print ANYTHING at our house unless it is absolutely necessary! When my son wants to paint or draw we recycle already used paper! And we recycle ALL paper that enters our home OR we reuse for art projects/note paper!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a professional photographer and we found a great printer who prints photographs on green sustainable paper. We are so happy to be using them!

I got rid of my home printer a few years ago when I needed $ and haven't missed it - most things I don't need to print! At work, we have company policy to automatically print doublesided, but I so rarely print that it's moot - I'm the only person at my desk without a file cabinet as everything is electronic! Re: TP, I do 100% recycled (beware the new greenwashing in TP from the bigger brands who brag about '20%' -woop dee doo), every single store carries it and it's way better quality than it used to be :) Next thing y'all is to remember to buy the biggest amount of TP you can buy to reduce overall packaging! :)
ReplyDeleteSince I unplugged my home printer to save on electricity, I hardly ever have something that is so critical to print at home that I plug it in again.
ReplyDeleteBut my absolute favorite paper-saving technology are silicon cupcake "papers". They really are better than paper, partly because they're reusable, partly because they're fun. More deatils here.
I love this one. I have been trying to reduce my paper use by getting rid of junk mail and going electronic with as much as possible! I wrote a post a while ago and am now working on round 2 to reduce it even more. Some stores are now giving you the option of receiving a receipt by email. I always use the other side of my kids homework to print what little I do print - why don't schools print double-sided?
