#CTWW - Daily Challenge

Here is today's challenge:

Remove one light bulb from your home. Live without it for the rest of this "carbon fast". This will decrease energy use and act as a reminder of why we are doing this. In addition, make a point of turning off lights when you leave a room or that you don't really need to have on. This simple act could save 55 lbs of CO2 emissions a year.

"See" you tomorrow!

WE'RE CHANGING THE WORLD, ONE CHALLENGE AT A TIME!

  1. Haha, I've done that. The kitchen bulb blew on Saturday. I've bought a new one, but until I borrow a ladder, I remain in the dark. I rarely use the kitchen at night, so it won't be particularly missed.

  2. We have two unscrewed right now! The hall light (there's two in the hallway), and we have the one in the laundry room unscrewed as well. With the new challenge we'll unscrew one more just for fun... our closet. We have a walkin/bathroom closet we don't use that often, but there's two light bulbs in there to.

  3. Ha! Like A.V., I too have just discovered a burned out bulb, and will leave it as is for the duration. Funny thing is, I don't know when it went out. I'm guessing that because we repainted the bathroom in a light color, we don't need the extra bulb anymore - hence the blog title Lightening Up Helps With Light Out: Today's Lenten Carbon Fast Challenge

  5. I'm incredibly late on this one but...I'm one step ahead! I was fixing electrical switch in one room, which "broke" a light switch for another light. I've been too lazy to actually look into it and fix that broken switch, so we haven't been using that light for a couple of months. Lol! I'm going to fix it, but now that I know I can live without it, I plan not to use it as much.
