Change The World Wednesday (#CTWW)

Welcome back to Change The World Wednesday (#CTWW)! Have you missed our weekly challenges as much as I have? I'm happy to be back and even happier to see you!

Yesterday's POST included the changes we'll be making this year and we started things off with our first poll. If you haven't yet voted and commented, please do ... I'd love to know your thoughts on the subject.

Ready to challenge yourself? Let's jump right in! If this is your first visit, please click HERE for information and a complete list of all the challenges we've taken on so far.

The new year seems to beg us to sort through our things and get organized. So ... let's start 2013 off by doing exactly that. Here you go ...

This week choose one area of your home (a closet, drawer, cupboard, etc.) and organize it. Sort through everything and decide which items you'll use (and put them in their proper places), which items won't be used and can be donated or given away, and last (as in last resort) ... which items should be tossed in the trash bin. If you're feeling especially ambitious ... work your way through the entire home.

Or ...

If you've already done this and your home is in good shape, please let us know how it went. Offer us helpful tips, lessons learned, etc. Did you find any items you had forgotten about and will now use? Did you donate or give away many things? Do you feel that organizing your home has made it more Eco-friendly and if so, why?

So what do you think? Sound like fun?

Next week we'll be back to doing a full wrap-up complete with the Honor Society, the CTWW Gang, and a look at your comments and posts.

By the way ... if you want an easy way to keep up with our challenges, just add the banner below to your blog by copying the code & pasting it into your site!

Until next time ...

WE'RE CHANGING THE WORLD ... ONE CHALLENGE AT A TIME!

  3. Am busy moving to a new home half the size and so am being forced to downscale. Can't begin to say how liberating it is seeing things go to new homes and knowing I am no longer bound by too many possessions.

  4. I can't wait to jump in with this challenge. I've been procrastinating about decluttering but now you've given me the motivation I need! Thanks SF!

  5. We have had to do some de-cluttering especially in the kids' areas after the holiday deluge of new toys. I had gone through and donated toys before Christmas, and then we went through a week ago AGAIN and rounded up even more for donation.
So glad CTWW is back! :)

  6. We are in the process of decluttering getting ready for our babies so this challenge hits home! Welcome back. Just thought I'd let you all know if anyone wants a chance to win a Kaeng Raeng Vegan Cleanse or wants a great code for one.... http://thedetoxdiva.com/win-a-kaeng-raeng-cleanse/

  7. I do this with regularity. A very good way to organize a space is to set up 3 boxes or bins - 1) for KEEP 2) for GIVE AWAY and 3) for TRASH. Makes it fast and expedient. I love to declutter! Great task! & Yes...I've missed you guys. ~ Anita

  8. I started off the year strong on this one but faded quickly. Is it really only the 16th? Boy I didn't last too long. I'll continue with my office.

  9. Cyndi ~ I can surely relate to your "earring story" so your little nudge is just what I needed! I'll be organizing all those little extra treasures I've been accumulating. It's only a beginning as there is so much organizing I need to do. I used to be soooooo organized ~ whatever happened!
Peace and Hugs for successful organizing everyone! ;) Donna

  10. Well I moved into a smaller home recently so I'm in good shape. I did however donate during the move. Get this, a 17 foot uhaul full of things was donated!

  11. Welcome back! Love all your ideas for your 2013 site!

I do this about once a month in my office, which is my sadly-unused dining room I converted when I started my business. Always feels cleansing to go through the piles. Rest of my house is pretty organized - I tend to naturally audit/clean, so I don't have a lot of stuff.

  12. If your child does it for you, does that count? It took three weeks (and I had no hand in it), but now CelloPlayer has a room that is neat, organised, and walkable. I've been shamed into doing some more of that in the rest of the house.

  13. This post comes at a great time, since I'm already working on minimizing, organizing, cleaning, + decorating my office this month! :)

  14. I also have started on this. First up has been going through lots of papers. Filing the ones that need that and shredding the others. We then take the shredded paper to be recycled. I also have been going through our cabinets and reorganizing them. It is amazing how much more room you have and how much easier it is to find the items. This is just a start. Have lots more to do!!

  15. I've been working on decluttering when I'm feeling a little better. I've been sick for 2 years now and most of the major cleaning and decluttering hasn't been done since before I was diagnosed! So, I have a LOT to do!

  16. I have missed the challenges! Glad to have them back! I did a clean out of the bathroom cabinet last year and hope to do some more clean out of the pantry (if I ever get to it, lol)
