My friend, Brian, from The New Author recently won the Creative Writer Blogger Award. The rules of the award state that he is to nominate others for this award and ... yep ... he nominated me.
So ... I'd like to thank Brain for passing it on to me.
Okay ... here are the rules:
- Thank the person who gave this to you.
- Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
- Link to the person who nominated you.
- Tell up to six outrageous lies about yourself, and at least one outrageous truth – or – switch it around and tell six outrageous truths and one outrageous lie.
- Nominate seven “Creative Writers” who might have fun coming up with outrageous lies.
- Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.
- Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.
Ready for my lies & truths? See if you can figure out if I've told 6 lies and 1 truth or 6 truths and 1 lie:
- I love wolves and when I was 21 I had a tattoo of a wolf placed on my lower back.
- I hold a Masters Degree from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
- I am 6'2" tall and grew to 5'0" by the time I was 10 years old.
- We recently had dinner with Steve Martin who now has a home in Brevard, NC.
- I worked, for many years, in a building with no windows (not one single window).
- I once spent a summer panning for gold in Alaska.
- I have hiked the entire 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Now to the nominations. There are so many people I'd like to
- EcoGrrl at http://ecogrrlnetwork.blogspot.com/
- Angela at http://www.angelabarrow.co.uk/Blog/
- Argentum Vulgaris at http://tomusarcanum.blogspot.com/ (I had to do it AV)
- Theresa at http://www.faeriemooncreations.blogspot.com/
- ReWinn at http://rewinn.blogspot.com/
- Brenda at http://brendasjewelrybox.blogspot.com/
- Waylandcook at http://waylandcook.blogspot.com/
Here's one more truth for you: I am notoriously bad about fulfilling awards so ... if any of my seven nominees aren't up for it, I totally understand. But ... I hope you'll have some fun and play along.
Have a great weekend everyone!
WOW, those are some really good ones. I think you have 6 truths and 1 lie and I believe you may have exaggerated on how tall you are...although the building with no windows is an interesting one too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brian, Wow. I am inclined to agree also with Brian that there are six truths and a lie, but which is the lie? I'm going to differ from Brian here and go for the Pacific Crest trail.
ReplyDeleteAV
I meant to say, that mine is done!
ReplyDeleteAV
thank you...so nice of you!
ReplyDeletei'm hoping steve martin is true...of course you might not be talking about the man with two brains, you might be talking about some dude with the same name...
ps i'm paying it forward AND backwards - http://ecogrrlnetwork.blogspot.com/2010/05/may-21-you-like-me-you-really-like-me.html
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the blog nomination! I am honored. :) Hmmm...this is hard to try and figure out. I am going to guess #6 would be the incorrect one. Theresa :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no clue as I know next to nothing about you. But all were fun to read!
ReplyDeleteThanks for nominating me. My site is moving this weekend so I'll play along next week. Meanwhile I think it's 6 lies and 1 truth but I don't know which is which!
ReplyDeleteI'd go for they are all lies except number 7! But I'm probably completely wrong :)
ReplyDeleteAre you going to tell??
I just checked out Steve Martin in Brevard, NC. Google indicates tht he performed there. Someone even asks if it's true he lives there now. I know he just won a Grammy for his bluegrass album. So Brevard would be a natural place to be seen. You don't mention in your profile that you like bluegrass/folk/country. But do you?
ReplyDeleteSo did you have dinner with Steve but he doesn't live in Brevard? Of course, he could have purchased a home there and only stay there sometimes.
Does he live in Brevard, but you didn't have dinner with him?
Or is it that you worked in a building with no windows? Being outdoorsy, would you intentionally work in a building that you couldn't see out of? What kind of building wouldn't have windows? DH says the only he can think of are a gun store or an adult video store. But you're an animal lover, so maybe you disapprove of guns. Did you work in a porno shop?
Yale does, indeed, have a school of forestry and environmental studies.
Hmm.... 6'2" is awefully tall for a woman.
I think I'll guess that you are not really 6'2" tall.
Well, it's time to reveal ... it was a lot of fun to read everyone's guess. The truth is ...
ReplyDeleteThere are 6 lies and 1 truth. #5 is the only complete truth. No, Judy, it wasn't a gun shop or a porno store ... it was a classified program. :)
They say that a "good" lie has an element of truth in it ... and each one of my lies has a small grain of truth:
1. I do love wolves but no tattoos.
2. I have a degree but not a masters, not from Yale and not in Forestry & Environmental Studies.
3. No where near 6'2".
4. Steve Martin (the actor) has recently bought a home in Brevard, NC, but I've never met him or had dinner with him. To answer Judy's question ... I do like Bluegrass music and hope to see Steve perform in the area.
5. True
6. I've been to Alaska.
7. I've hiked part of the Pac. Crest Trail but not the entire thing.
Thanks for playing everyone!
THIS was FUN!
ReplyDeleteNow I'll add it to my blog, if I can figure out how, and see how devious I can be!
Thank goodness you were a good sport about the whole no sindows question! 80)
How much fun to read your truth & lie
ReplyDelete1. My sister does have a tatoo of a wolve.
2. My daughter has been to Alaska
3. My aunt Susie is 6'
4. My sis has a B.S.in Nursing
5. I live in Oregon so not far from Pac.Crest Trail
6.I adore Bluegrass Music
Teeny bit about me~~In regards to you fab. post
What Fun!
ReplyDeleteI was inclined to believe all of your lies; I like to say that I'm not gullable, I just like to believe things!
But they were good lies too; plausible and consistent with your past writing. I hope you enjoy mine (... or maybe they are true....): http://rewinn.blogspot.com/2010/05/lesas-creative-writer-award-fun-for-me.html
oh how fun...sorry I'm a lil late playing this, but I was thinking 6 lies and 1 truth...just couldn't figure out with one was true. lol! Thank you for nominating me! I'll have mine posted before the week is over. :-))
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Although I am just a bit late replying to this post, I had a lot of laughs and giggles reading. I knew the answer was #5 way before I reached the end of this post. But I could be lying huh?
